The members of The Heartlight Community share the belief that we are all here for one purpose -- to awaken to the truth of our divinity.

The path of awakening takes many forms, and each individual's experience is unique. Still, this is a journey we must all take together in a consciousness of our oneness with each other and with all of creation.

We believe in spirituality, not "religion," and that a community such as ours exists not only to serve the needs of its members, but to be of service to the greater community.

Our Minister

Rev. Lauren Maddison,

after serving for
over two years as the minister of A New Thought church in Santa Ana, is now in service as the senior minister/spiritual leader of The Heartlight Community. She is a minister who truly 'walks the talk' -- loving, compassionate, and always authentic. Her message is delivered straight from the heart, and draws from the wisdom of many different spiritual paths.

Whether conducting Sunday services, teaching weekly classes, officiating at weddings, memorial services, or baptisms, providing spiritual direction to individuals, or performing pastoral care duties, Rev. Lauren approaches every moment as an opportunity to help all people awaken to their true selves.

Our Music Director

Debra Baker Cullen delights us all with her music, her personality, and  what is clearly a spirit-guided approach to providing music for worship. Adept on keyboard and guitar, she is an accomplished musician, and versatile mezzo. Debra has years of experience arranging and conducting for instrumental and vocal groups, and was the founder and leader of Spirit of Avalon, a trio specializing in devotional and meditation music, who recorded an album of their best-loved selections. Debra is now a member of the Irvine Valley College Masterworks Chorale.

A veteran in the church music field, Debra retains a refreshing openness to new ideas, new ways of expressing Spirit through music. “I think my job is to support the service, the message, and the spiritual path of the congregation by working with the soloists and the minister to create an uplifting and cohesive Sunday experience,” explains Debra. “My highest goal is to facilitate shifts in consciousness through music.” Our program includes an eclectic array of music: traditional, gospel, folk, New Thought, and many others.

Rev. Lauren and Music Director Debra Baker Cullen perform a duet with their usual exuberance and heart.

Tuesdays
In-Spirit

Meets Tue. at 1:00

It is absolutely possible to feel inspired every moment of every day if we practice awareness of our Source. Part of our spiritual practice is attending a weekly reading and discussion group to share insights, ideas, and friendship.

We are currently reading The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore,
by Deepak Chopra.

This is a fun, relaxed and informal group led by our minister and you are welcome to come join the group at any time.
